The Soda Museum of Art is the first private art museum in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and has been left for a long time, but is a cultural arts reproduction space that recreated a large fomentation room as a design and architecture museum.

The target building was located in the Hi-dong area, which was emptied by the urban development project and economic recession, which was delayed by decades, and was a large steam room that was in danger of being demolished because construction was suspended. The role of the new architect was required to cover a wide range of areas from planning, design, con- struction, and operation for 'regeneration' of buildings and neighborhoods left on a very limited budget. Each ‘room’ composed of concrete boxes and container boxes that expose the exist- ing frame as it is and utilizes the structure of the jjimjilbang is interpreted as a ‘canvas’ that contains various art and cultural contents. The cargo container considering economic feasibili- ty, expandability, and mobility not only maintains tension through harmony and contrast with existing concrete buildings, but also has been designed with future art museum expansion and urban content diffusion in mind. Hwaseong City, which has a population of 700,000 and overlooks a million cities soon, is in fact lacking in cultural and artistic content.

The reborn space is a culture and arts base for the region, and it is expected to bring the region's continuous warmth into a cultural platform that grows with the region as it continues to be filled and changed with new attempts from various creators.
